I’m so disappointed by this news. I recently proposed an adjusted work schedule where I would work 6 out of 40 hours each week from home. I was denied without compromise. This would have allowed me to increase the time I spend with my daughter from 1.5 hours each day to 4.5 hours each day. Now, my husband is looking for a new job that will pay him more and I will be looking for a part-time job that will presumably be a significant pay and title decrease. After working there for 3 years and having 3 stellar performance reviews, I thought I had proven myself worthy of an adjusted schedule. But my female boss is living in an old paradigm where working remotely is inconceivable. Companies and organizations need to wake up and realize that the world is changing and educated and talented members of the workforce are now valuing time and flexibility over money! I hope there is a mass exodus as Yahoo.
