Taking care of the old and ill is something that is hard, and the people who do it are not without needs of their own. The fact that many people end up in rest homes because we won’t pay minimum wage to their caregivers is a shame and embarassment to this country.

While it will be difficult for some people to afford the extra money it is unfair to do that on the backs (and in the pocketbooks) of others. Everyone needs a living wage and taking care of people who are ill and need care is included.
Oh, for a society that truly cares about others as is the case in most of the developed countries of the world.
It is about time that something is done about this situation.

This is an issue that society must address and fix now! Then need for care workers has never been greater and those we care for deserve to have the most highly skilled people taking care of them in the environment of their choosing. They have earned ths right. Just ask yourself….who do you want taking care of you & your loved ones and I think the answer will be clear that you want someone who is fairly compenstated for the critical job they do.
