It revolutionized birth control and has been a vehicle in women&#039;s steps towards equality. 
However it is not a substitute for abortion: many women choose not to go &quot;on&quot; the pill for health reasons- unfortunately it is the only almost completely reliable form of contraception that  is easy to use. 
We should not have had to made the trade off between making the pill affordable and abortion rights. 
Thank you for mentioning the word abortion in a neutral manner:  I am tired of male politicians telling us it is a moral issue.
It is a health issue and a women&#039;s rights issue.</description>
